Beyond 50
Health and social outcomes in Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula
Thank you for your interest in the Beyond 50 study. In August 2024 we completed recruitment with more than 1000 people from Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula joining the study. The study is ongoing and findings will help to promote Healthy Living in the Australian population.
This project is a collaboration between Monash University, the National Centre for Healthy Ageing (NCHA), the Burnet Institute, Turning Point, Edith Cowan University and Peninsula Health.

ABOUT THE STUDY:
The Beyond 50 study aims to understand how health and social factors influence healthy ageing, to help promote healthy living in the Australian population.
The study is currently following over 1000 people aged between 50 and 70 that live across the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula area, who are providing us on information about their social, work and physical health through yearly interviews. Interviews will continue until 2025, allowing us to see how health and social factors influence healthy ageing over time.
STUDY DEMOGRAPHICS
Participants taking part in the Beyond 50 study are aged between 50-70, and live within the Mornington Peninsula or Frankston and Surround Suburbs Local Government Areas (LGAs).
Eligible suburbs include:
Arthurs Seat, Balnarring, Balnarring Beach, Baxter, Bittern, Blairgowrie, , Blind Bight, Boneo, Cannons Creek, Cape Schanck, Capel Sound, Carrum, Carrum Downs, Crib Point, Dromana, Fingal, Flinders, Frankston, Frankston North, Frankston South, Hastings, HMAS Cerberus, Langwarrin, Langwarrin South, Main Ridge, McCrae, Merricks, Merricks Beach, Merricks North, Moorooduc, Mornington, Mount Eliza, Mount Martha, Pearcedale, Point Leo, Portsea, Red Hill, Red Hill South, Rosebud, Rye, Safety Beach, Sandhurst, Seaford, Shoreham, Skye, Somers, Somerville, Sorrento, St Andrews Beach, Tootgarook, Tuerong and Tyabb.

FAQ
How can I get more information about study results?
While all participants will receive newsletters 2-3 times a year with key updates about the study, participants are also eligible to receive copies of all study publications and findings.

Can I withdraw from the study?
You can withdraw from the study at any time if you do not wish to continue, and will be asked to fill in a withdrawal from the research project form.
How do I update my contact details?

How is my data used and protected?
Monash University follows the highest standards of Data Protection and Storage and all participant data is completely anonymous.
